Damian Stamer
A painter with a working studio, paintings in museum collections across the country, and twenty years of learning what actually keeps the work going.
Damian's paintings are in the permanent collections of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, the Gibbes Museum of Art, the Mint Museum and the Cameron Art Museum. His solo museum exhibitions include Damian Stamer: Ruminations at the Gibbes (2023) and the current series, Angels & Ghosts, at the Middlebury College Museum of Art (2026).
Creativity Academy is the room he wished existed when he was starting out: not a course you finish, but a place you return to.

Questions
Things people ask before joining.
I can't make the live time. Is it still worth it?
Yes. Every session is in the library within 24 hours, captioned, with chapter markers. Submit your question ahead of time and it gets answered on the recording.
I'm not a painter. Is this for me?
Damian happens to be a painter, but the sessions are about creative practice itself — starting, sustaining, finishing, judging your own work. Writers, designers, photographers, musicians, makers of any kind are welcome and expected. Bring whatever you're making.
Is one hour a month enough?
One focused hour plus a weekly prompt is more sustained attention than most people give their practice in a year. The monthly rhythm is deliberate: long enough to make something between sessions, short enough that you never lose the thread.
Can I ask Damian a question?
Yes. Email it any time in the month to hello@creativityacademy.art and one member question is answered in the last ten minutes of every session. Questions are read without names unless you say otherwise.
What do I need? Do I have to be on camera?
Zoom on any device and whatever you make work with. You're never on camera or on mic — you join, you post in the chat when you like, and you work. Nobody is watching you create.
What does "founding member" mean?
Anyone who joins before the first live session on October 1, 2026. Founding members pay half price — $24.50 a month for the first three months, or $235 for the first year — and get a letter from Damian in the mail. Annual founders also receive a signed, hand-finished print from his Angels & Ghosts series. Founding members also get first access to anything added to the academy later, for as long as they stay. The offer closes October 1 at noon ET.
How do gifts work?
Choose a month or a year, enter the recipient's name and email, and add a message if you like. Their membership starts when they accept it. A gifted month doesn't auto-renew; a gifted year runs for twelve months. Either can be extended by the recipient at any time.
What if I can't afford it right now?
Email hello@creativityacademy.art and say so — no explanation needed. We'll set you up at a rate that works. The room is for everyone who wants to create together, and the members who pay full price make that possible.
How do I cancel?
From your membership page — enter your email, Stripe sends you a link, and you can cancel or update your card in two clicks. Or just email hello@creativityacademy.art. Either way you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
